平日の夜に洗濯をしつつ、ネットサーフィンしてたらいきなり暗闇に。ブレーカーが落ちたらしい。なのでまた付けてみたけど、うんともすんとも言わない。まじ？っていうか洗濯機の他には部屋の電気くらいしかついてなかったのに！確かにフィレンツェにいた時もよくブレーカー落ちてたっけ。。。これじゃ料理とテレビと洗濯は同時にできないな。っていうか洗濯機を夜廻すだけで落ちちゃうなんて。。。とりあえず何をどうしてもつかないのでその日はそのまま寝る。次の日起きてからも試すが、やっぱり駄目。仕方ないので会社に行ってから人事に電気が無い事を伝える。その日のうちに修理してもらえたからよかった。。。
そして土曜日、もう家に何も食べるものがなかったので近くのカルフールへドライブ！が、しかーし！閉まってる。ええええ？土曜なのに？日曜に閉まってるならわかるけど。。。仕方ないので次は家の近くの小さめなスーパーに行ってみる。そこも閉まってる。ToT うっそー！家の周りにはバールとかもあるのだけどもちろんそれも閉まってる。っていうか何もかも閉まってる。明けて日曜！わざわざカルフールのウェブサイトまで確認したら、今週の日曜は開いてるという情報が。でもここはイタリア。閉まっててもおかしくない。だって本当は開いてるはずの土曜日に閉まってるんだから。。。で、カルフールまで行ってみたら、まだ開店直後だというのに、駐車場は殆ど埋まってる。中に入ると、今度はカルフールに入る為の長蛇の列。何これ？皆こんなにも開くのを待ち望んでたの？スーパーに入るのに並ぶなんて初めて見たよ。っていうかこんなに需要があるんだから、毎日開いててもいいのに。。。と、思うのは便利な日本に慣れてしまってるからかな。。。とにかく、なんとか食べ物確保。いざ会計へ。今度は会計にも長蛇の列。このお客の人数に対して、３つしかキャッシャーが開いてないっておいおい！そりゃ混むよ。だって15個くらいキャッシャーがあるお店だよ。結局カルフールに入ってから出るまでに1時間以上かかった。まーでもおかげで食べ物にありつけたからよかったけど。本当東京って便利だなー。
Was doing laundry on a week night while net surfing and the lights suddenly turned off. The breaker seemed to have tripped so I turned it back on... but nope, nothing. No lights, no electricity. Uh oh... Tried a few more times but to no avail, so I decided to just go to bed and try again the next day. (I mean, there wasn't much I could do but to sleep) Got up the next day, but nope, still no lights. Got into work, talked to HR and they sorted things out for me. Phew...
I had no more food left at home so Saturday I decided to drive to the Carrefour nearby for some groceries, only to find it closed. What!? It's supposed to be open on Saturdays! So I tried another supermarket close to my apartment but that was closed as well... Obviously everything else (restaurants, bars etc) were closed too. Dammit. At home, I checked out the Carrefour website which noted that the one close to my house was going to be open specially on Sunday this week. So I woke up this morning and drove over to Carrefour again and yes it was open!!! But wow the parking lot was totally packed already and oh my gosh, a line to actually get into the supermarket!!! I have never seen a line to go grocery shopping... I mean, if there's such demands why can't they have the shop open everyday? I know I know, I'm just used to the convenient life in Tokyo... But seriously, there were over 300 people who were so eager to do some grocery shopping! Got everything I needed and went over to the cashier to find another looooong line. This place has like 15 cashiers but they only had 3 open. Why oh why?? But hey, I got what I needed so I'm happy, even though it took me over an hour just to do some grocery shopping. Man, Tokyo is so convenient..
